Well, here I am in not so chilly Chile! I am having a wonderful time so far. I have been visiting old friends, as well as meeting many new ones. The people here are lovely and the temperature is very warm. I have been to the beach because I looked like the Ice Queen when I arrived (after being in snowy NYC). I met with the women´s rights group (with whom I plan on working with) and they are all so nice. It is interesting, the women´s rights group is very small. It seems as if many women here are not moved to stand up and fight for change. I hope that I can make a difference. I have also been interviewing for some English teacher jobs here. I have had some offers, but have not decided which one I will like to accept. Although I am having a very nice time. I miss my CSS students and staff very much. It is hard to be so far away from home and all the people whom I love most. At the same time, I understand that this is an important and necessary step in my life, and I am excited about this new adventure. I miss you all and am thinking of you always. ReplyDeleteI REAAAAAAAALLLLYYYYYY MISS YOU!!!! I wish you still taught our social studies class, it seems like forever ago that we were memorizing countries,cities,and states. My new goal is to memorize all of the places in the world. I hope you have fun in Chile and ALWAYS keep CSS in your heart and mind!!! = ]
